This is one of my favorite sayings in maintaining good eating habits. It it’s not in your home, you don’t have easy access to grab and eat unhealthy temptations.

It may sound simple but it all starts when we are at the store and the intense feeling comes over us to pick up that delicious pint of ice cream, chocolate brownie bites, peach cobbler, cakes, cookies, soda, chips, junk food, etc. I’m making myself hungry right now! Here are some quick tips to help you create and maintain healthy eating habits.

1)     Research the best foods and brands for your body & stick to them

2)     Type up shopping lists with check boxes and use each time you shop

3)     Put lists on your cellphone, tablet or apps to help you with shopping

4)     Never go shopping when you are hungry, you may get more & bad foods

5)     Don’t talk on phone while shopping, you may pick more & bad foods

6)     Go shopping with a friend who will support your healthy choices

7)     Get coupons for your healthy items so you save money on them

8)     Add up items prices while you shop so you don’t go over budget

9)     Find healthy alternatives to the snacks you love but need to avoid

10)  Pick one day of the week to just splurge on the snacks you love
